Display Indicator (SharePoint OOB layout Image) in SharePoint list 2010
Hi All,
I need to display a KPI indicator icon in a column in two SharePoint list for multiple subsites.
I have come across the below online resources but not exactly what i need it.
1. http://officepowerups.com/2013/06/11/display-icons-in-sharepoint-list/ - There is an issue with the indicator alignment also after removing the center tag and Indicator column shows the code in item display form however, i want to see indicator.
2. https://www.dmcinfo.com/latest-thinking/blog/id/333/sharepoint-2007-and-2010--color-coding-custom-lists-and-tasks - Shows code in display form and not showing SharePoint Layout OOB Images as Indicator but not sure how we can use it as per this resource.
I would really appreciate your help if someone can let me know how i can display a KPI indicator icon using layout image in the the SharePoint List view and in item display form. As an example, please refer the below SharePoint layout img src URL:
img src='http://sharepoint/_layouts/images/KPIDefault-2.GIF'
Thank you.

DataContext Class (SPMetal) & Multilingual site
Hi,
I'm using a DataContext Class (SPMetal) to CRUD data of a list.
Now it is a multilingual site (EN, NL & FR)
No Problem for the EN version. But for the NL & FR version I get a List not found exception.
Behind the scenes SharePoint is using SPList.Title to get the list. But this is translated to NL & FR, so the list can't be found.
Any ideas?
Kind Regards

Sharepoint foundation dynamic sorting

SharePoint 2010 - Handling data redundancy in custom list
I have a custom list which will have redundant data. Consider the below case:
Scenario:
An item is created which follows few processes (analysis, review, approval, completion etc.). Events are captured. For each event, UserID and Username is captured. A single user can be part of multiple events. Suppose a user performs 5 events on 1 item. Storing the same name in the list for 5 events will lead to lot of redundant data (also number of columns will increase).
Can somebody suggest a better way to handle this?
Regards,
Himanshu

In the Code sections, it would be useful for the code to be broken into parts and then explained in depth. Then the full code could be on TechNet/MSDN Gallery and you could link to it. Great References section, but it might be good to embed the links in the titles of the articles so that we know what the articles are about a little better. Great contribution!” |
![]() | Arleta Wanat | Powershell GridView to help with SharePoint data viewing | Ed Price: “Good use of images and helpful article, but a little light in the explanations. Could use a See Also section with Wiki links.” Richard Mueller: “Interesting. We could use more explanation and references.” |

SharePoint 2010 Foundation - External Content Type (Login failed for user "Domain\unknownuser$")
Hi,
I am trying to create an external content type, I have already managed to create the external content type and connected to the database. However, I am stuck at the viewing of data (read operation).
Initially, I received the Login failed error for anonymous user. I managed to solve it by running the script of management shell command.
$bdc = Get-SPServiceApplication | where {$_ -match "Business Data Connectivity Service"}; $bdc.RevertToSelfAllowed = $true; $bdc.Update();
I even changed the authentication mode to "BDC Identity". Right now the problem is that, I received a login failed for user ('Domain\unknownuser$).
Would appreciate help on this.
Thanks!

I have a document library that we have created some additional fields on so when we upload a document we get an additional screen which when populated and saved updates the properties to the document. We want a workflow to kick-off when that portion
of the upload is completed and notify our team about the new doc...
Created does not have the values from the second screen
Updated/CHanged does not kick off...How would I do this?

Web Part filtering
Hi,
We have a Sharepoint 2010 site. We have a web part that shows data from list using some fiters. It is using the xslt sheet.
But the filter values are selected in another web part that shows drop downs and loads values from the lists. Currently its loads all values from lists. But We want to put some filtering in dropdown based on value selected in another dropdown.
How is this possible? I am not sure which web part this is. In properties Miscelleneous section, it shows the name of lists it gets data for dropdowns. I could not find any thing else.
Thanks,

How to display SharePoint view column vertically?
Hi
I want to display my column header in vertical orientation. I created a page and inserted list view web part and content editor web part in that. I added following code in content editor web part:
<style type="text/css"> .ms-vh2 { WRITING-MODE: tb-rl; -moz-transform: rotate(90deg); width:10px; } .ms-viewheadertr { HEIGHT: 240px; }</style>
This rotates the column header successfully. But this also changes the orientation of the drop down option list. Is there any way to avoid this??
One more thing...I don't want to apply this to all the columns. I want it to be applied to only certain columns. Please let me know how this can be achieved?
Is there a simple way to create page transitions between sharepoint pages?
I have pages automatically advance to the next page on a display every 15 seconds
I would really like to have some transition effect happen in between the pages. ( It's a Display Screen )
I had found a plethora of solutions particularly with JQuery/Javascript however they all seem to involve a <BODY> tag or a JQueryDocument.Ready function or a requirement to have all in a <DIV> that I can't get to work with my pages.
Admittedly I do not know how to aptly circumvent the lack of the above tags or functions in SharePoint's code.
The end result I'd like to have the page advance in 15 seconds ( I have that figured out ) but the transition is the thing.
Ideally I'd love to use this: http://git.blivesta.com/animsition/
It looks simple enough but I can't get it to work on SharePoint 2010.
The only difference is that it seems to be configured to have links to the next page as opposed to being meta-freshed to the next page.
A view of their 3 'Simple Steps" - I can't get it work - man if not this then any transition would be so appreciated.
Step 1: Link required files
<!-- animsition.css --><link rel="stylesheet" href="./dist/css/animsition.min.css"><!-- jQuery --><script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.11.0/jquery.min.js"></script><!-- animsition.js --><script src="./dist/js/animsition.min.js"></script>
Step 2: HTML markup
<body><div class="animsition"><a href="./page1" class="animsition-link">animsition link 1</a><a href="./page2" class="animsition-link">animsition link 2</a></div></body>
If you want each "linkElement" to use a different animation.
<a href="./page1" class="animsition-link" data-animsition-out-class="fade-out-right" data-animsition-out-duration="2000"> animsition link 1</a><a href="./page2" class="animsition-link" data-animsition-out-class="rotate-out" data-animsition-out-duration="500"> animsition link 2</a>
If you want to each page to use a different animation.
<div class="animsition" data-animsition-in-class="fade-in" data-animsition-in-duration="1000" data-animsition-out-class="fade-out" data-animsition-out-duration="800"> ...</div>and finally:
Step 3: Call the animsition
$(document).ready(function() { $(".animsition").animsition({ inClass: 'fade-in', outClass: 'fade-out', inDuration: 1500, outDuration: 800, linkElement: '.animsition-link', // e.g. linkElement: 'a:not([target="_blank"]):not([href^="#"])' loading: true, loadingParentElement: 'body', //animsition wrapper element loadingClass: 'animsition-loading', loadingInner: '', // e.g '<img src="loading.svg" />' timeout: false, timeoutCountdown: 5000, onLoadEvent: true, browser: [ 'animation-duration', '-webkit-animation-duration'], // "browser" option allows you to disable the "animsition" in case the css property in the array is not supported by your browser. // The default setting is to disable the "animsition" in a browser that does not support "animation-duration". overlay : false, overlayClass : 'animsition-overlay-slide', overlayParentElement : 'body', transition: function(url){ window.location.href = url; } }); });
Thank you very much for your consideration.
Now doubt would I greatly appreciate your kindness to help.
