Hi, I've developed a custom timer in SharePoint 2010 and deployed it and it's doing what it's supposed to do. Using SharePoint Central Admin, I have it scheduled to run once per hour, starting every hour between 1 minute past the hour, and no later than 15 minutes past the hour. It mostly runs as scheduled, but looking at the history of this job, 3 times in the last 48 hours it ran twice in the hour, instead of just once. For example, this morning it ran at 3:01 am and then at 3:02 am, then hourly as it was supposed to, then at 8:01 and 8:02 am.
Any ideas what could be causing a timer that's scheduled to run hourly to randomly run twice in an hour, only sometimes? What can I check/reset in Central Admin? I'd restarted SharePoint Timer Services yesterday several times, but that didn't seem to help as it ran a couple of extra times this morning.
