Add or update participants in workflow programmatically

Regarding SharePoint Approval Workflow in SP2010. Add or update approvers of Publication Workflow Task

There is the ability to Add or update participants to this task process through SharePoint UI on a running workflow.

I want to do it programmatically with C# object model.

Please somebody give me an example or guidelines how can I do it.
