Hi this is a long story but I will summarize and any help would be so awesome. I will be so unbelievably appreciate.
So in this environment we do not have access to SP Central Admin. So as an SCA over this site collection I only have SP Designer 2010 to work this. Basically an old developer build an application and one of the Workflows will not run. When you try to run this particular WF it just gives the error "SharePOint Designer Cannot Display the Item". Yes I have tried everything. I need to rebuild this workflow.
The only thing I have to work with are the XOML files. The three of them. I am focusing on the main .XOML file. The wfconfig.xml file looks good and the GUID and lists it is referencing are operational. So my main question is if I need to rebuild this WF from scratch is there anything you guys could recommend I do when going through all of this code? I have broken the .XOML file into its steps and identified and made notes with the code in a Word document (pasted the code after converting to .txt document.
So I can identify the activities how the specific conditions I can not make out. What would be even better is if I could fix that WF so that I view it with errors at least as opposed to just going through all of this code. The one thing I have avoided is the rules file. I know about the work around using Visio but I still need to figure out what I should do here.
I can use Visual Studio in our development environment. However! It is not connect to a SharePoint server. So the development I am doing is in our production environment in our Intranet. This is a huge network and I cannot get to the SP servers. So I am using SPD and SCA. Any advice would be so greatly appreciated. Any advice or direction.
